What's the best way to spend a fall Sunday morning? Doing family portraits out in Gold Rush country, of course!
I had the privilege of photographing the lovely Krause family during a crisp October morning, out on their ranch. Anyone who's familiar with BC's heritage is aware that the Gold Rush Trail cuts through this neck of the woods, and is probably one of the most beautiful spots in the whole province. From sage brush to bunch grass and cattle, it doesn't get much better. The Krause's, like myself, are originally from the much damper, rainforested valley just south, and we all agreed that we've landed our own jackpots when we moved north to the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, and left the Fraser Valley behind. And to make this photoshoot even more personal, all of us competed in 4-H and/or were part of the same 4-H club at one point! (Yes, the Fraser Valley is THAT small!) Thank you again for having me out to your gorgeous ranch, it was a pleasure capturing some fun family photos!
